S'Archittu

I love arches, and I love Italy, so this is a perfect combination!  

S'Archittu is a sea arch located on the island of Sardegna, Italy.  It's in the city of Cuglieri, which is about a 2 hour drive from Cagliari, where we arrived on our Mediterranean cruise.  We rented a car and headed to Cuglieri.  You can read more about the arch at this website:  S'Archittu  I imagine that when the weather is nice during the summer, people swim around and under the arch.  The arch is 45 feet tall.  In 2001 the High Dive World Championship was held at this arch because it is such a popular diving location.  You can watch a video of our visit to S'Archittu here:  S'Archittu

The drive across Sardegna was pleasant and easy to navigate with the included navigation system that we had included.

We parked in a lot that was labeled to be for S'Archittu.  But since we came in the off season, there was a parking area right next to the pathway for the arch, so we did not need to park in that first lot.  I recommend that when you come, get as close to the arch as you can before you park.

There is a very easy path to the arch

You can follow the path all the way on top of the arch, although it isn't paved the whole way.  But it is very easy to follow and not scary, even if you're afraid of heights like me.

It is hard to tell exactly when you're on top of the arch.  I had to have my daughter stand far away on either side and tell me whether I was on top of it or not.
